Abstract
the aim of thisstudy was to comparison ofcognitive emotion regulation strategies, optimism and life satisfactionamongpeople withgastrointestinal andcardiovasculardisease. Materials & Methods: The design of thisstudy wascausal-comparative, the statistical populationthis studyconstitute allpatients with cardiovascularand gastrointestinal disease admitted to ShahidArefian hospital of Urmia city in the months of august and September of 2014. That of this population, 160subjects (80 patients with cardiovascular disease, and80patients withgastrointestinaldisorders) were selected by availablesampling method. Andcompleted thecognitive emotion regulationquestionnaire (CERQ), life orientation test-revised (LOT-R) and satisfaction with life scale (SWLS). Afterdata collection, the data were tested in Spss softwarebymultivariateanalysis of variance (MANOVA), LSDtestand independent t-test. Results: the analysis showed that, there was a significant difference betweencardiovascular and gastrointestinal patients in the cognitive emotion regulation strategies and optimism variable (0/01). But the variable of life satisfaction was not statistically significant between the two groups. Conclusion: take measures toimprovecognitive emotion regulation strategiesin cardiac patients and increasingoptimismin bothgroups’ cardiovascular and gastrointestinal patients, especiallyincardiac patientsessentialfor improvelifesatisfaction in these patients
