Abstract
The nursing profession is beyond the knowledge or set of skills and techniques to perform. To achieve holistic care, nurses must be educated the ethical knowledge. Nurses in their daily clinical practice are faced with numerous ethical issues and they are expected to have an active role to solution the ethical challenges. Exploration of effective Factors on active participation of clinical nurses to solution of ethical challenges can provide holistic care of the patients in three dimensions; technical, professional and ethical care. The purpose of this study was to explore the perspectives of master nursing students regarding these effective factors.
Materials & Methods: A qualitative study, using the content analysis approach, was conducted. The questionnaire with demographic and open-ended question were held with 46 master students who were studying nursing in tarbiat modaress, shahid beheshti and Guilan University of Medical sciences in 1390-91.
Result: During the data analysis, three main themes emerged: "Inherent and personal characteristics of nurses", "management and training roles of hospital as employer", and " professional performance of nurses".
Conclusion: Healthcare team members and administrators should support nurses to solution of ethical challenges if they are improving the ethical nursing care and active participation that are expected
