Abstract

Patient satisfaction with nursing services provided as an indicator of the quality of nursing care which was studied here. On the other hand, the literature review showed that cancer patients received a slight care of nursing group. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate satisfaction with nursing care to cancer patients and its related factors. Materials & Methods: This was a descriptive – correlation study on 131 patients hospitalized in the oncology department of Shahid Ghazi Hospital in Tabriz. The patients were recruited by convenience sampling. As Satisfaction survey, we used La Monica patients' satisfaction questionnaire by the score range of 41 to 287. Some socio-demographic characteristics were compared with the check list. Data analysis was done by using statistical software SPSS version 17. Descriptive and inferential statistics were performed as well. Results: The results showed that the average satisfaction score of Nursing Services was 203/2. There was not direct relationship between socio-demographic characteristics and disease-related characteristics of patients' satisfaction with nursing care. Conclusion: Patients with cancer are relatively highly satisfied with nursing care. However, due to the limitations of this study, further studies are needed
