Abstract

This research was conducted to study the relationship between the coping skills and career exhaustion with psychological health of Urmia doctors. Materials &Methods: This descriptive-correlation study was conducted on 313 (83 specialists, 230 general doctors) physicians that were selected via proportionate stratified sampling method. Maslach burnout scale, Goldenberg mental health questionnaire and Lazarus and Folkman coping strategies were used to measure the variables. Results: Career exhaustion is suitable predictor of mental health. There were significant negative relationships between confronting ways and psychological health. There was significant positive relationship between confronting ways and career exhaustion. There was significant negative relationship between career exhaustion and psychological health. There were no difference between male and female on coping skills and career exhaustion and psychological health. Conclusion: These finding highlight the importance of training coping skills and developing prevention programs for enhancing psychological health in relationship with coping skills and career exhaustion.
