Abstract

The only competitive advantages of any organization (including health care centers) are people and their role in organization success. Empowerment and providing job satisfaction are essential. The aim of the present study was to review the relationship between psychological ability with job satisfaction in nursing staff. Materials & Methods: In this descriptive- correlational study the samples were selected randomly. Data gathering tools were three questioners. The data were analyzed by T-test, Pierson correlation coefficient and multiple regressions. Results: While the average job satisfaction of the nursing staff was 3.847, that is indicative of a relatively desirable job satisfaction, the most dominant dissatisfaction item was related to low payment. The average psychological ability was 4.278 that show high ability. The result of correlation coefficient indicated that there is a significant relation between psychological ability and job satisfaction in nursing staff. The effect of multiple regressions also indicated that there was a significant relation in reliability and trust variable with changes of job satisfaction. Conclusion: With regard to relation between psychological ability and job satisfaction in nursing staff, it is recommended that the managers of therapeutic-hygienic centers provide conditions that staff consider their job worthy and have inner interest toward it, they believe in their ability and capacity for doing delegated duties, they and have enough freedom and independence in work environment. In addition they will gain more self confidence, and interest that will lead to working more properly
