Abstract

Hypertension is one of the chronic diseases that has been introduced as a silent Effective measures to prevent and control blood killer and general public health crisis. And pressure can reduce the complications. Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the effect of educational intervention about lifestyle modification on knowledge, attitude and behavior of blood pressure control among patients with hypertension in Urmia. in 2017 on 160 patients with Method: This is a quasi-experimental study that was performed hypertension in urban health centers of Urmia in two intervention and control groups (80 each). Sampling method was multi-stage random. The data collection tool was a questionnaire including demographic questions, knowledge, attitude and self-control behaviors. Educational intervention was performed in three 45-minute sessions. Before training, Which included symptoms of illness, disease complications and lifestyle modifications, the importance of regular drug use, the need for regular blood pressure monitoring, blood pressure measurement standards and drug side effects information was collected through a questionnaire and after 3 months the questionnaire was completed again. Data were analyzed by SPSS Version 16 software using chi-square, Fisher test, independent t-test and paired T-test. Results: The results showed that there was no significant difference between the two groups in the mean scores of knowledge, attitude and control of blood pressure before the (P >0.05). However, the knowledge, attitude, and behavioral control of blood intervention pressure after intervention in the intervention group were shown to be significant in comparison with control (P <0.05). Conclusion: The results indicate that the educational intervention program is effective on knowledge, attitude and behavior of blood pressure control. By improving the level of knowledge and attitude, blood pressure control behaviors can be improved in patients with hypertension
