Abstract

Various factors can affect the quality of life and the self-efficacy of patients with myocardial infarction. The effect of multimedia education with family-centered approach based on telephone follow-up (tele-nursing) on quality of life and self-efficacy of patients with myocardial infarction was investigated. Materials and Methods: In this clinical trial, 60 patients with myocardial infarction were selected by convenience sampling and the intervention group was randomly divided into two groups of intervention and control, and a 10-group intervention workshop was organized through multimedia software for patients and active family members. Also, the intervention was conducted by the researcher for 1 month (once a week). The control group did not receive any intervention. Patients' quality of life and selfefficacy was measured before and one month after the intervention using the Minnesota (MLHFQ) quality of life and the Sherer General Self-efficacy Questionnaire. Data were analyzed by SPSS 21 software at the significant level of 0.05. Results: Mean scores of quality of life and self-efficacy between the two groups of control and preintervention (2.94 ± 0.31), (2.91 ± 0.43), (2.92 ±0.24) and (2.93 2 0.41) respectively was which were not statistically significant (p = 1). However, after the intervention, this difference became significant so that in the intervention group, quality of life and self-efficacy increased (P≤0 / 001). Conclusions: Training and telephone follow-up were effective in improving the quality of life and selfefficacy of patients with myocardial infarction. It is recommended that educational interventions with a family-centered approach by nurses in patients with myocardial infarction To be
