Abstract

Academic achievement plays an important role in other aspects of life including
personality, intelligence, and social status. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of
assertiveness and aggressiveness of female high school students of Urmia in their academic
achievement.
Materials & Methods: In this study at first we selected four high schools randomly- then 262 students
completed aggressiveness and assertiveness questionnaires. Finally, we calculated their mean average
of two-semesters.
Results: The results of t-test reveal that there is no significant difference between levels of aggression
and assertiveness of different high school students, but there is a significant difference among
academic achievement of students in high school students.
Conclusion: According to the results it is necessary to investigate the role of intelligence and social
status in academic achievement
