Abstract
Appropriate adaptation in multiple sclerosis can help reduce problems. One of the more effective and practical templates in nursing that has been concerned with this topic is the Roy Adaptation model. Tis study was done with the purpose of studying the effect of performance care plan based on the Roy Adaptation Model on effects of fatigue in multiple sclerosis patients. Methods: In this study, 80 patients with multiple sclerosis were selected by available sampling, and randomly divided to two groups of 40 subjects, and assigned to intervention and control groups. Te data collection tool in this study was, fatigue effect scale that was completed, by both groups before and afer the intervention. Te intervention consisted of six sessions; two general education sessions and four care programs based on maladaptive behavior. Data were analyzed with the SPSS sofware and descriptive- inferential statistics. Results: Before the intervention, the mean fatigue effects scores and domain were not signifcantly different between the two groups. Mean fatigue effects scores and domain, decreased afer care programs based on the Roy adaptation model, in the intervention group, when compared with the control group, and this reduction was statistically signifcant )P > 0.001(. conclusions: Implementation of the Roy Adaptation Model, reduced effects of fatigue in people with multiple sclerosis, therefore it is recommended for nurses to use this model to reduce effects of fatigue in patients.
