Abstract
Preeclampsia is a common complications of pregnancy. By predicting pre- eclampsia,
maternal and Fetal mortality rates are expected to be lowerd. The purpose of this study was to
determine the predictive value of simultaneous use of urinary calcium to cratinine ratio and BMI in
early diagnosis of preeclampsia.
Methods and Materials: A prospective carried on the 400 nulliparous women between the 28th and
32th weeks of gestation. At first, weight and height was measured then urine was catched for calcium
and creatinin meassering . All women followed until delivery.
Result: Of total 400 women 23 women developed pre-eclampsia. Using the ROC, urinary calcium to
creatinine retaio lower than 0.068 showed a sensitivity 35%, specificity 93%.BMI higher than 28.88
showed a sensitivity 61%, specificity 92%.When two test were positive, they showed a sensitivity
17%, specificity 99%.
Conclusion: The combination of two test has low sensitivity however it has high specificity for
refuseing of pre-eclampsia
