Abstract

Incorrect nutrition pattern in youth years is the One of cause for beginning of chronic disease. We have to attention about girls health through food choices that is the basis for tomorrow mothers. Thus, youth years is a golden time for improving health and nutritional status of them.

Materials and methods: In this descriptive study, we selected randomly 100 students of university an studied their diet. In order to data collection we used Food Frequency questionnaire and 24-hour Recalls (for 2 days).

Results: Body mass index (BMI) of females was 21.86 ± 1.48 (Kg/m2), and the average of energy intake was, 2464.27 ± 315.3 (Kcal/day), carbohydrate 58% ± 11.7, protein 12.6% ± 4.1, fat 30.4% ± 6.3.

The daily fat intake was composed of saturated fatty acid (12.86% ± 3.2), monounsaturated fatty acids (9.65% ± 2.5) and poly unsaturated fatty acids (7.89% ± 1.9) and total fiber intake was 15.65 ± 3.6 (g/day).

Conclusion: Although, the percentage that allocate to the macronutrients and BMI were in acceptable rang but the amount of fiber and sources of fatty acids don't receive the prescribed amounts.
