Abstract
Anxiety and depression is a major of health problems in Adolescents. Health and psychological status have multiple influences on behaviour and adaptation mechanism of girls.
Although the social groups and families are recognized as an important group to participate in creating health full teenagers, but they don's have a right view to health programs. Therefore, we carried out a study in order to determine anxiety and depression on high school students.
Methods & Material: This study was a descriptive study data were gathered by standard questionnaire (G.H.Q). The questionnaire consists of two parts the first part refers to demographic characteristics, and the second presents the questions of anxiety and depression.
Results: Data showed that 30% of the samples of study usually had anxiety, 30% fatigue, 26.6% of them every thing was out of their control, and 23.3% were bad tempered. Related to depression 30% of samples felt that they couldn't do anything, 26.6% of them wished to die, 20% felt life had no value for them and 16.6% felt despair in life and they had thoughts of suicide therefore based on the scale of GHQ: 29% of the samples had severs anxiety and depression, 15% moderate and 1.2% were mild.
Discussion: Results showed that the samples of study had anxiety and depression. Whereas today's girls are the mothers of future therefore, the results of this study is an alarm for high school managers. Then, they must have plans for basic teaching learning programs for mental health promotion in girls.
