Abstract
Infertility is a major crisis that has many psychological and emotional
consequences for women and men; therefore, the aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness
of Transactional Analysis Therapy on Emotion regulation strategies and Sexual Function of Infertile
Women.
Materials & Methods: The present study is a semi-experimental pretest-posttest with the control group.
A total of 30 infertile women referred to the Mehr Infertility Clinic in Rasht city during the 6 months of
2017-2018 were selected by available sampling method and randomly assigned to two groups of
Transactional Analysis Therapy (n = 15) and control group (n = 15). They completed the Cognitive
Emotion Regulation Questionnaire of Garnefski and et al and the sexual function of women Rosen
questionnaire before and after the intervention and 2 months follow-up.
Results: Mancova showed that the TA therapy in posttest stage has a significant effect on Positive and
negative emotion regulation strategies Strategies (p <0.01) and The results of repeated measures analysis
of variance showed that the effect of TA was Remained on to follow up. Also, Results showed that the
TA therapy in posttest stage has a significant effect on Sexual Function (p <0.05).
Conclusions: According to the results, it is suggested that TA therapy be used as a Therapeutic Plan to
reduce emotional and sexual problems among women infertility in treatment clinics
